Eat it or flip it
The art world no longer prioritizes originality, with many institutions seeking to remove works from their original artistic context in order to fulfill their own interests and pleasing the masses. With this work we aim to allude to the death of originality and the standardization of artistic content. It is not our intention to take radical or unwavering positions, but to bring a constructive discussion about themes that can be instilled in our work. Many artist that don’t integrate their practices in the contemporary context often see their work being devalued and diminished. The power of artistic legitimation cannot be held by artistic institutions alone. This standardization, especially imagery, can contribute to the return of essentialist positions that keep art in a limbo of stagnation. Contemporary practices, given their multidisciplinary, despite offering constant procedural evolution end up alienating the public that is not prepared to receive these works. The problem is not only found in artistic practices with elitist contours or in the positions taken by renowned institutions, but also in education systems
